Rob Cinq-Mars grew up on the water in Newport, RI - learning to sail on small boats such as 420's, Blue Jay's and Bulls Eyes, onto compact cruisers, through a range of larger sailboat lengths, designs, and rigs; all the way up to large schooners. The same was true for power boating... gradually moving from outboards, to a wide range of fishing and recreational vessels, all the way up to 120 foot long oil rig crew and supply boats. Sea time was earned in waters from New England and the East Coast, to the coastal waters of Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico, while experiencing seas from dead calm to forty five foot cresting waves and hundred mile per hour winds.

Rob is a USCG licensed Master. Most recently, he has trained as a Marine Electronics and NMEA 2000 Installer. Rob holds a degree in electrical engineering and is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu honor society. He is Red Cross Certified in First Aid, CPR and AED, holds the Transportation Worker Identification Credential, NASBLA Safe Boating Certified, and is a US veteran.
